6/20 @ PRUMA
This past Saturday, we held another Chainbreakers show, this time in collaboration with Lucas over at Blackbelt Booking. The bands that played were: First Ordeal, Lose The Life, Sentient, One Last Prayer, and Forced To Suffer. It was really dope to be able to raise money for Chainbreakers as we delve into the world of becoming a non-profit. All money raised goes towards acquiring a physical space for in-person meetings, events, shows, etc. We are so incredibly lucky to be surrounded by awesome, talented, and loving people. When it comes to the live music part - any show that CB throws, it will ALWAYS be kid-friendly. No alcohol/drugs are ever allowed.
Thank you to the homies that made things special on Saturday, thank you to the new friends that came to the booth and said what’s up, and thank you to the bands that played and showed nothing but love and respect.

chainbreakers is…
Chainbreakers is a place where friends can get together and just talk. We know that joining a meeting can be daunting so that’s why we pride ourselves in being a break from the norm of traditional meetings. We’re non-denominational too, so any background is welcome.
A little bit of backstory on myself - I have been sober 9 years now. When I was first introduced to meetings - I tried and relapsed, twice. It didn’t call out to me. It didn’t push me like I thought it would. I knew that if I was going to get sober, I had to do it on my own. I was the first of my friends to put down the bottle so it was extremely lonely. I stopped getting invited to places, I was tip-toed around by my peers because “oh, he’s sober now…”. It was extremely isolating. Sobriety is hard. But it does get easier. I started Chainbreakers with a dream and motto: “Don’t go through it alone if you don’t have to”. In the midst of my sobriety, I was also dealing with external issues - new job, child custody court, etc. If anyone understands the chaos of life, I do. Due to my isolation in the early days of sobriety, my goal with CB was to cultivate a space that feels just like kicking back with your homies on a group video call. I know that being around like-minded people is important. We want you to know and feel that you’re not alone in this. The road is tough, but you are tougher.
